Stuck In A Flooding Zone!

Stuck in a flooding zone,
My home is gone,
My clothes are wet,
My books are soaked,
My friends couldn't be reached by phone.
I see
A sea
of Water
Around my living quarter.
No place to stay,
No chemicals to spray,
No medicine for treatment,
No mood for entertainment.
I feel the isolation
Via the lack of communication.
Am I hopeless?
Am I helpless?
How can I survive on my own?
May I get a loan?
Please don't tell me that I am wrong,
Please pick up the phone
And take initiatives to act upon.
Stuck in a flooding zone,
My home is gone,
My clothes are wet,
My books are soaked,
My friends could not be reached by phone.
I pray for the misfortune to be gone
To end this heartbroken song.

Blue Monday/Theme Blue-A Blue Fish Is Ready 2 Play

Deep in the sea,
On a sunny day,
A blue fish is ready to play.

To her dismay,
A shark is coming her way,
The blue fish could become a prey.

Detecting the shark in her harm's way,
The blue fish sums up her bravery,
And invites the shark to her Birthday next day.

The shark winks to agree,
The blue fish is free
On her way to her favorite bay.

It is another beautiful day,
With the shark guarding the door way,
A school of fish have bubble cake to pass their day.

This poem is written on March 9, 2010 and posted in my other blog.
I post it again here to share with you and hope that you enjoy it.

Pink Saturday In 55 Words

A Pink flower admires her sister Red,
she dreams about being Gold,
she wishes to be Green,
As she grows,
Pink is the only color her body shows,
So Pink knows
Life is NOT as perfect as a rose.
Now she feels good
As soon as she understood
that she is unique in her neighborhood.

Magpie Tale-Use Your Own Imagination!

This is a post for Magpie Tale (arts) hosted by Willow at magpie tale

I wrote a poem, it is a work of fiction trying to have fun looking at the prompt.

When I was a child, one of my neighbor's sons is deaf, he is handsome and a skillful tailor, he has married the most beautiful girl who happens to be a cripple, their sons are perfect, none is deaf or a cripple. I simply feel like writing something silly about someone like that, the poem is a fiction based on my childhood neighbor. No offense! I love neightbors of my childhood.

I Value Your Input and Wishing You All A Very Terrific Tuesday!

For more information about magpie tale, please visit willow at:

A deaf fellow Willy
Has a girl friend named Tiny,
His face turns shiny
Whenever he sees Tiny.
He works to become a world famous artist,
Despite the fact that mastering ancient arts is the hardest.
Willy travels a lot,
Which breaks Tiny's heart.
Once, back to town at last,
With an empty tummy,
Willy is found guilty
4 stealing
Something yummy
2 please Tiny and her Mummy.
Willy ends up in prison,
Has Willy learned his lesson?
To be continued...
Use your own imagination.

Summer Tips 4 Families Plus Father's Day Greetings

Life is not all flowers and laughter.

Summer time could be tough for many families, because kids are out of school, and while they relax and free from school work, they also get bored easily at home. As a mother to two teen kids, I recall my times while kids are out of school, I know it could be a struggle, especially when a family has limited access or resources to summer relief programs.

Some tips I would like to give or share to/with parents:

#1: Take a summer vacation, no matter how tight the budge is, take a break and spend time far away from home is one way to unwind and refresh oneself.

My family has been doing it every year when the kids are young. We bought membership from zoos and science museums, each family pays about $75 for each organization, the family earns FREE visits to more than 200 zoos, and more than 200 science museums, or natural history museums. This saves money, and when the family travels cross the states, one feels more relaxed…money is spent on gas, food, and hotel. We always bring swimming suits when we travel, kids enjoy swimming in pools in hotels.

#2: Enroll kids in summer reading programs, take advantage of locale public library.

In the U. S., public libraries play an important role in educating, entertaining, and supporting families during summer break.

My kids enjoy borrowing books from public libraries and taking them home to read. Keep a record and report to the library, they reward kids’ effort by the end of July.

They also host special shows in June, July, for about eight weeks. Each Tuesday, Thursday. Some singers, story tellers, crowns, book writers,…are invited to perform for kids in a large hall, parents with kids or babies are welcome and they are free to the public. On Wednesdays, they have movie time, it is also free.

Call or visit your locale library for details. I love my locale public library so much and have enjoyed visiting regularly for years. Also, they have internet and limit library users to use the computers for 1 to 2 hours, each patron can have a limit of two accesses to the internet there. I used to use the computer there, with two of my kids also log on to separated computers. We spend 1 to 2 hours online, everyone enjoys the peaceful time.

In addition, kids who are 12 years old or older are allowed to spend time in public library alone. If a parent has some errands to run or special meeting to attend, they can feel free to drop their teen kids at public library, where they read books, or magazines, and use internet.

#3: Summer School and Relief Meal Programs.

My family has lived in a few states. When we moved to the state where we are now, we find the locale education system is of high quality and they offer summer programs to help families,

Kids of age 0-18 can eat breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, in June and July, at two elementary schools for FREE during summer time. I used to take my kids there, the program help families to break away from their homes, expose themselves in public, meet other families or friends who are in similar situations. At times, my kids will go to school playground to play with their friends after the meal, and in general, it ends up either they are invited to go visit their friends’ houses in the afternoon, or invite a friend over to play.
It is fun for everyone.

My kids refuse to go when they grow older than 12 years old. In general, families with smaller kids enjoy more. I used to see a couple who came in, with six kids, from 10 year old, 8, 6, 4, 2, and baby…wow. I was shocked to see some people who have the energy to bear and raise so many children. They do need such relief.

Kids from kindergarten to 5th grade can enroll in a 4 week summer school program in public schools. Both of my kids have been doing it. I send them in at 8am, they do math until 10am, then reading until 12, then they automatically eat lunch there before being picked up.

Not all states have summer meal relief programs. I consider we are lucky at where we are.

#4: Develop play mates.

I could not play with my kids all the time. It is more fun to invite one of his friends over and they are happy to play for a day. I usually let them play indoor for a while, encourage them to ride bikes in the neighborhood, take them to swim in public pool, then take them out for lunch, borrow a movie home to watch or go watch a movie in the afternoon, also go to playground to kill some hours…Friendships are mutual, I used to have my kids being invited over to fishing, hike in woods, short distance traveling and so on. I enjoy free time when my kids are gone to their friends’ houses.

#5: Enroll in some camps.

My husband goes nuts when the kids stay at home with NO programs or plans. Thus, we enroll them in some summer camps. After fifth grade, both kids do music camps for a week.
There are information online everywhere, one simply do online research before school is over, plan ahead, apply and send them when it is time.

I write these based on my personal experiences.

Today is father’s day, I wish my own father a happy father’s day ahead. My father is good, hard working…I am grateful growing up having a loving father who never beats his kids and works hard to provide or support the family.

I wish all of you, fathers, or fathers in your family a very happy father’s day.
Thank you for taking the responsibility to raise kids and have a normal family, thank you for the braveness, intelligence, and uprightness in standing up tall, and making history.

Fathers are heroes. They risk their lives to provide safety and peace to their families and to their country when it comes to a war.

Fathers are leaders. They work as presidents, CEOs, mayors, or managers to lead, produce, and keep life alive and full of hopes.

Fathers are artists. They work as writers, designers, professors, researchers, or entertainers to make books, design beautiful landscapes or houses, mold young and promising students, and cheer up audiences with their music, literature, and movies…

Fathers are bloggers. For my followers who are fathers, I thank You for your friendship and
for sharing your most shining wisdom of life with me in your posts. I have enjoyed reading your words, touring your lovely gardens, and getting feedback from you upon my own posts.

Without fathers, this world is dull and empty...

Happy Fathers Day to All!

55-If I Pick Up The Phone

Home alone
With everyone else is gone,
The house grows cold,
I need something to hold.
If I pick up the phone,
Call you:
"would you mind coming along?"
I expect to hear you respond.
Let's sing a song,
Let's dance
And go wild once,
Let's enjoy a date
With our desires beautifully pursued.

This is a fiction, I try to relax and have fun!

The voice of the pencils calls our wandering mind,
Through echoing lands and echoing humans in wind.
The charm of nature is to be shed,
The beauty and laughter of love are to be heard.
Via the sorrow of fights
And the crown of kings,
We see happy, sad, and wild things.
What dreams shall we pursue?
What hope shall we give?
Ask the pencils,
Follow their believes.
No passion bids us wait,
The voice of the pencils is the voice of our fate.

Deep in the sea floor,

High above the Northern star,

If you explore with friends’ support,

You travel twice as far.

How do you interpret manipulation here? Does it mean that you can talk people into your agreement? Do you have to force your perception about the world on someone specific?

The answer is NO!

The word of manipulation could be deceptive! No one can control or change those who refuse to be controlled or altered. But, for those who look for directions, for those who seek friendships and partnerships, you have the opportunity to reach out, share your common sense, and give birth to lives in your shared interests.

If you know the trick of manipulation, you are more likely to be successful. Your thinking skills, your self-managing skills, and your language and problem solving skills would have found a place to mold. The uniqueness in you attracts those who admire you closer to your life.

As a result, your life is empowered, your destination is in sight! Because of manipulation, transfiormations take place, your dreams could easily become reality.

Do you agree?

You are welcome to join for a heated discussion. Have fun!

Magpie Tale-1 2 3, do re mi...

1 2 3,
do re mi,
1 2 3,
do re mi,
1 2 3 4 5 6 7,
do re mi fa sol la Si,

Ms. Linda's voice keeps echoing in my ears. She was my 2nd grade music teacher in elementary school and had the sweetest voice any female could dream about.

"1 2 3 4 5 6 7 , do re mi fa sol la si are pelicula sound of music, it is the tools to build a song.Once you have these basic elements in head, you can compose or sing thousands of millions of different tunes by mixing them up by random..."

Ms. Linda continued, she wanted to make sure that her students knew how music works.
And her efforts did pay off. The whole class loved singing during music time except me. I only opened my mouth and did not let my voice out.

At first Ms. Linda focused her eyes on me.

I continued failing to sing.

Then, Ms. Linda paused with a smile:" Someone did not sing along, please stop the silence."

I still remained silence, this time, not even opening my mouth.

Now, Ms. Linda walked toward me after the class finished a full round.

"Joyee, you always have such natural smiles on your face when you walk into the class. I love seeing you in class and feel like smiling when I see you. I am sure
your voice is beautiful and adds credit to the class as a whole."

My face turned red. I could not sing because the other day, when I tried to model a famous singer on TV, my best friend Lan told me that my voice was among the worst, I should never try to sing anything at all. I always trusted my friend and her words.
I agreed that I am never a singer and decided to stop singing at all.

Of course, I could not tell my reason in front of my classmates.

And I failed to sing along the whole class period.

Ms. Linda spoke to me in person in her office later that day. She forgave me after listening to my explanations.

"Joyee, you voice is very different from others, but this does not mean you are not a singer, you sing for fun, you sing for pleasure...most importantly, I believe that
you could become a folk song singer."

I remembered her words until today. I have never become a famous singer or a singer with specialization on folk music, but it does not matter. For more than thirty years, I hear Ms. Linda's encouraging words and never hesitate singing any song for fun. And I love music and enjoy attending concerts all my life.

Two years ago, Ms. Linda committed suicide.

She has developed her career very successfully and has become the principle of the school after 20 years of excellence in teaching. but, as a female, she has faced doubts, questions, and personal attacks.

According to rumor: The major reason for her suicide is that her husband has filed a divorce case against her due to his assumption that she has had an love affair with the school superintendent, a powerful male who used to be a language art teacher in the same elementary school.

And they are close colleagues for more than a dozen years.

I don't care what has led Ms. Linda's death. I value her for her encouragement and care for her students. I never have kept in touch with her personally, but her words sing in my head for my life time.

I bought a statue with a girl singing proudly and it reminds me of Ms. Linda.

I wrote this poem for my lovely music teacher Ms. Linda,
May peace and love be with her.

I heard you singing when the dawn was near,
With silver dews eagerly waits for the sun to appear.
You sing all day through,
With the sun drinking up the dew.
You continue to sing during evening hours,
Your voice lulls both animals and flowers.
Your song sounds like sweet and yummy ice creams,
I trust that your singing echos lovers' dreams.
Satisfied, when all the obstacles are cleared,
All of a sudden, the spell of your song has disappeared.
All alone,
Without your lovely song,
I am ready for everything that lies ahead,
I move forward, no fears or dread.

Alphabe-Thursday: T Is For Temptation

What about The Letter T?

There are so many words that start with the letter T, among them
I choose temptation. Thus in my entry 4 Alphabe-Thursday , I have
T is 4 T-E-M-P-T-A-T-I-O-N.

Here I demonstrate TWO (2) places the word can be utilized.

Assume that you see a one hundred dollar bill on the floor when you walk on the street, you have TWO (2) options:

#1: Pick it up, resist the temptation of taking it as your own, try to find the victim who has lost it.

#2: Pick it up, give way to the temptation of taking it as your own, place the bill in your pocket and walk away as if nothing has happened.

Which choice do you choose and why?

No correct solutions simply reason and discuss it for fun.

Theme Thursday-White Is The Color of...

White is the color of June,
White is the color of a full moon.
White is the color of perfection,
Innocent and full of satisfaction.
White is the color of curiosity,
Filled with wonders and
willingness to overcome adversity.
White is the color of snow,
Melting under the summer heat,
What a show.
White is the color of clouds in sunny sky,
Floating around, no worrying about why.
White is the color of the Divine,
United we stand, what fun.
White is the magic that hides in the air,
White is the color of some people’s hair.
White is a fairy’s wing flapping up and down,
White is the feeling of being alone.
White in the light glowing in the dark,
White is the skin of some people in the park.
The color of the universe is white,
Too sad, people in the war still choose to fight.

White is the color of June,
White is the color of a full moon.

Magpie Tale-The World Will Be A Better Place If...

This is a post for Magpie Tale (Shoes) hosted by Willow at:
I wrote a poem this time, it is a fiction trying to have fun looking at the prompt.
I value Your Input and Wishing You All A Very Enjoyable Tuesday Ahead!

A pair of shoes
Is like a pair of eyes
That watch what you do
When your feet desert them
To woo another pair of shoes,
Or to swim in public pools;
To take a sunbath near a bay,
Or to cuddle with your lover by the end of the day.
To stay shoeless,
feel fearless;
And run wild
Like a daring child,
The world will be a better place
If one always wears the other person's shoes
With significant grace,
And walk side by side
With matched pace.
