Being Myself Is A Big Deal

Forecast says it's going to snow tomorrow,
So I shall cherish my time today,
I don't want to be reminded any sorrow
of what happened or will occur anyway,
The will to be free is tense,
The reasons don't have to make any sense,
I wish to stay calm and be real,
Being myself is a big deal.
I shall try my best to be current,
nothing will stop me from valuing my present.

I agree! Life is now! What was is gone, and if it snows, we'll deal with it! Great poem. Love it!

Hello.
We can only think of the present...no need to worry of what has yet to pass.

Nicely expressed!

Very true indeed! More people should have this outlook in life for sure. As for the poem, very wonderful - I liked how you didn't follow the abab style of rhyme, to me it felt like you were following your own rhythm, and it went well with the message of your poem :).

Thank you for sharing!

Yes, that's the key, I guess, to being oneself is to really be in the present. It is a challenging practice, but one with rich rewards.

I like the inclusion of the idea of snow forecast for the next day.

You already have the recipe, just go in there and get it right. In the end you'd come out being greatly yourself. Just keep it real.

Cheers!
