Magpie #42 In 55 Words-Why Not Enjoy Life's Winter?
Snow falls tumbling down,
The sun gives a frown;
Trees make a cold stare,
As cars pump smoke in the air;
Snow crunches beneath our feet,
As snowmen are built down the street;
Icy wind makes a lonely howl,
The moon remains modest like an owl...
There's only ONE winner,
Why not enjoy life's winter?

I am ALL about embracing winter! Nice Magpie!!!
Nice ode to Winter, Jingle.
I must mention that I had volunteered to host the Friday 55 if G-Man wanted me to do so, but he instead decided that everybody deserved a week off from 55 writing.
(If anybody includes one in their comments Friday, I'll still post it. But it won't be an official G-Man sanctioned Friday 55)
Lovely poem about winter, I love to feed the wild life during winter,
Happy Thanksgiving Day.
Yvonne.

Very nice Jingle. Here in southern New Mexico, I don't ever get to see a winter wonderland like you depict. Enjoyed reading your poem.
Jingle, thanks for a beautiful poem and a beautiful post. I don't want to appear greedy, so I am taking only one award, the butterfly, and am putting it on my post with a link back to yours.
I love the moon that's like an owl:)
I slowly get hungry with all this good food pictures on all Alphabet posts ! lol !
Oh, I love "the moon remains modest like an owl"! Thank you for leaving such a feast of words and photos (yummy turkey; now I'm hungry).
Happy Thanksgiving to you also, Jingle!
Sleighbells ring, are you listenin'?

As someone who is entering the winter of her life, I can tell you it is as vibrant and alive as your poem! There is much to be thankful for...:)
Lynette
Appreciate your boundless energy and love for life, Jingle. You've given time unselfishly to others, awards, reminders and all. Thank you.
So nice to look forward to winter but sadly no winter here. However, we do have the sun throughout the year, similar as in the exotic South Seas and Hawaii!
Wonderful MagicPie.. Thanks for the awards Ji..
--Someone is Special--
Thanks for your support, as always.
Lovely words, the turkey looks delicious.
Beautiful..Jingle...Just felt the cold reading your poem..ha..ha..
lovely....it even makes me think winter might not be such a bad thing after all...
A beautiful rhyme about the winter season, listing many seasonal things we all find pleasin'. :o)
Rhyme Me a Smile
It is in my dream I do awake
When I am up I see a snowflake
Coming and blanketing as it hits the ground
Blowing and tumbling without a sound
So Now I see this pure and clear
The white stuff has landed for another year
enjoy my Dearest Jingle and Happy Friday to you as well(+)

and for the treats:)
The winter poem is very nice and I like the picture that goes with it. Well done:)
Hi Jingle!
Thank you for your sweet message! Happy Holidays (okay, you are the first I have said that to, LOL) to you too - and I love this poem - you are so talented! xoxo
I'm so happy it's summer here, hehe!
Winter is always welcome for me. I love the chill in the air, a cozy fireplace, warm sweaters and sweatshirts.
Of course, it doesn't get too cold here in Arizona. If it snows, it rarely sticks for more than an hour! So we get the beauty without the work. But we pay for it with our hot winters.
Thanks for visiting.
Janis
Great use of 55 words - If one lives where it is snowy and chilly, one had better embrace it! I did that for many, many years. However, I was very happy to give my snowshoes away when we moved south! :)
Beautiful poem & great awards - you're so generous!
Happy Thanksgiving & a great weekend too!
XOXO Lola:)
What a place to grab happy mood!
Thank You!!!!

Why not, indeed!....although I've had enough winter in my life to enjoy a balmy January!
Winter in Southern CA is pretty easy so I am all for it. I like to watch the snow fall, it's relaxing and soothing. But I wouldn't trade it. hehe. Love the Magpie! Have a great week!
