Associate Dean for Undergraduate Engineering

Stephen Carr is responsible for McCormick's undergraduate education program, including curricula, courses, and monitoring student progress to their degrees.
Carr joined the Northwestern faculty in 1969 and is jointly appointed as professor of materials science and engineering and chemical and biological engineering; he holds a courtesy appointment in biomedical engineering. His academic specialties span the areas of synthetic and biological polymers and materials engineering; he now contributes to the literature in engineering education.
He has been a consultant to over 50 domestic and international companies. He has a BS in chemical engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and a PhD in polymer science from Case Western Reserve University.
