Born On Mars (Sunday Prompts)

Born on Mars,
A fresh friend 2 many stars,
Burning flames in fields of rebirth,
Bare feet on frozen earth,
Serenity shocks us all
by making friend with anguish,
Parallel lines toss a ball
to startle a permeable wish,
After all,
Tomorrow is another day,
Stormy action is a wrong call,
Woo Moon Maiden
from whom embrace and grace
are the repeating themes
that are often unspoken.

The Stars Seem Shy

Hear the whispers descend
from the glittering sky,
No scowling winkles
the tiring pool,
No true love succeeds
without struggling to follow the rule,
A mother's love
is always decent and true,
The stars seem shy
when leaning down to smell apple pie,
The town hall leers
its torn shelves,
Heavy cars try
to lose weight
by sending homes
of those absent-minded elves.

Poetry Picnic Week 23: New York Times Headlines

Image Credit: The New York Times

New York Times Headline: Bird-Watchers Revel in Unusual Spike in Snowy Owl Sightings:

Here I share a piece from a poetess  titled: I Try to Image The New Moon.

The air, a washed pale blue,
The boat, powered by two oars,
The lopsidedness as you swung
left and right.
I try to imagine the new moon.
Before breakfast, my son made
seafood pasta, and somewhere
between the taste of scallops
& fusilli, the air was hinged
with a door & a gorgeous double
rainbow, against the blue.
Somewhere, a bird,
a different sky, a boat
of unconditional love.

My Response in Haiku:

Is that all there is?
Everything is possible!
Smiles, no tiptoe steps.

In My Head (Short Story Slam Week 19)

Why do we must dye our life?
Do I have to stay put indefinitely?
Look around, we have nature to worship,
Cryptograms to decode,
I walk around the park,
My mind is listless,
The wind is flirting with the starless sky,
I’m glad I didn’t detonate.
Birds hesitate to leave behind their old tree friend,
Winter rattles and signs in disorder,
Dead leaves mourn over their removal from trees,
I pray for you, in dimness…

55 in 4 Months

Birds sing,
APRIL showers on your chin,
Romance springs at one fling.
With roses blossoming in JUNE,
Dine near a beach with a fork and a spoon,
Dance a disc dance under the crescent moon.
Fireworks in the sky,
Kites fly,
Celebrate Independence in JULY.
School starts,
Time 4 fine arts
And some AUGUST pop-tarts.

My Entry 4 Flash Fiction Friday 55 By G-man G-Man’s Flash Friday 55
Happy 2012!

In A Place Where The Ocean Is Deep and Wide

In a place where the ocean is deep and wide,
Lonely soul greets the hungry tide,
Unspeakable things
scream in silence;
Broken wings
search for solace;
Deserted strings
haunt those died in violence!
This fairy
is NOT very merry,
This story
is Not that cheery,
This moment
is so very scary!
Brain-storms flood,
Thoughts stretch,
Let’s pray to God
and redo our sketch.

Short Story Slam: A Glance At Leslie

Image Credit: The Chance of Rain

I took your involvements in my community
as naïve acts,
You, seen as my GOOD friend,
No sign of suspicion from me,
Until you delivered your
stealthy critics about me to him,
About him  to me,
You had separated a family, obviously.
The path you took, directly,
has tremendous impacts on me,
The cut had visual depth,
A constant pain daily,
Sorry that he had to love other women
Sorry that he had to come back to me
We might never become best friends,
Even if the universe suddenly ends today,
Yet, I was happy to see your progress
in your revised role:
You had skimmed his vices
with utter patience,
You got your pieces of assurances from him,
Remain calm,
I do understand and bless you,
Even after you teased me in public,
and bullied me in private,
You thought you have him with you only-
In his river of deep embankment,
You were both right and wrong,
I hate that illusion that had tricked me once but no more.
I am perfectly fine to stay alone,
Now I send the past away
with my strength growing wings,
Thanks for your studious politeness,
You had been on top of the world,
with him spoiling and promising you,
Hope that you do so enjoy your current status
and understand how I feel as a woman, as the one left behind.

Because it is good 4 u;
Tomato is wealthy
As u c, it keeps u healthy;

The Loss of Her Own Identity

A stream craves to see a faraway river,
That sounds quite a favor;
It does not fit normal view,
because not all folks’ dreams can come true;
“Come fly with me”,
An invincible voice echoes repeatedly,

The stream is determined to go,
She would not listen to objections so,
To be able to fulfill the task,
She has lots of questions to ask;
Eventually she has preparations done,
Merrily, she marches ahead, what fun.
The path is full of twists and turns,
Yet the thirst to get closer still burns,
Crossing villages, hills, and cities,
Revolting from regions, states, and counties,
After numerous zigs and zags,
The stream is excited to see her new tags:
She has joined the river forever,
Her own identity does not matter.
Nobody knows what future might bring,
She is satisfied to live with her choice-her king
