Magpie Tale-Treat Pains and Loss Wisely

Image Credit: Magpie Take Prompt #53 at Willow

If everything were always golden and shiny,
What would you do?
I want to pay attention to darkness and sadness too,
Because not all lives are happy and cool.
When excitement and freshness are gone,
You shall not quit and frown.
Treat pains and loss wisely,
For tomorrow,
A surprise may tickle you fondly.

I fear I would not be able to cherish the beauty unless there was darkness around.

Wise words indeed! We do not know what the future holds and it's right that it should be so.

Yes. And perhaps the dark times make the light seem even brighter when it comes...

Thanks for your nice comment on my recent post :)

For I stand where I am to see
For the world around is illusion to me
But I know that I am in this blend
Nothing I can do until it ends
So I move about in this special place
Knowing that allowance is always in space

enjoy my Dearest Jingle(+)

You can't have pain without pleasure nor light without darkness. Sometimes it's nice to just sit and wrap the darkness around yourself.

Oh, yes, change is coming! Nicely done!

Ji, this is very profound, very Buddhist ... not to resist ... to sit with things the way they are and not judge. Quite wonderful. Well done ...

'I want to pay attention to darkness and sadness too, because not all lives are happy and cool.' and 'Treat pains and loss wisely' are my favourite lines... Maybe because these lines reflect the side of me which many (around me) could not quite comprehend...

Thanks for the congrat.. :)

I know we can't have the light without that shadow. This is a good reminder and so well said. I stared at this prompt for days and nothing came. You knocked it out of the ball park. :)

In painting, you must have shadow as well as light. If you don't, the light is flat and meaningless.

Great poem & last line,
And *see* you again soon!

It's true! The good things mean little without a contrast.
