Flash Friday 55: Winter Thoughts

Days in winter grow shorter,
Thoughts in me become sportier,
I write yet fail
to feel:
How the Moon with her flickering hope
hanging on bare cliff like a rope,
How November dusk blows cold kisses
to lonely gray houses,
and how I rake wet leaves in my hard drive
to see life between us.

It's hard to feel when raking leaves, but this is breath-taking:

How the Moon with her flickering hope hanging on bare cliff like a rope, How November dusk blows cold kisses to lonely gray houses

Rather the chill of winter roll over us slowly than take us by surprise. Beautifully penned.
