The Imperfect Is Perfect

Here comes Spring,
I try to wring
From each inventive writing
To unveil treasures hidden
Or forgotten.
Too often,
I see imperfection
In all human relation.
Does it make sense
That in the longing
Lies the glory of intense feeling
Inside your silent body?
With the most invaluable magic
Ties not to satisfaction,
But to the engine that
Powers it,
The imperfect is perfect.
Writing is burning profession.
If the joy is not overlooked
and the audience gets hooked,
Then nothing shall be impacted
And sorted to a digression.

Wonderful outlook on life, none of us are perfect yet somehow we get along.
Loved the poem.

I do not understand the spring part but like the imagery here. We are moving into fall...are you on the other side of the dividing line. Anyway, according to your last line, I digress.

Absolutely agree the imperfect is perfect ... people and art are not punched out on machinery ...
... having said that, this is a perfectly lovely poem. Thanks, Ji!

Your characterization is completely accurate. Only in the folds of imperfection can we find any real beauty or truth. Enjoyed reading your submission.

Too often you see imperfection! At least you are honest about that, the best way to be!

The imperfect is perfect. Invaluable magic, indeed. Thanks for the lovely reminder.

Great reminder that nothing is perfect in the abstract, but perfect in the way we are. Nicely written.

imperfect/perfect... I always liked that Leonard Cohen quote:

There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.

When perfection has come imperfection shall pass away.
For now imperfect is where we live and I am o.k. with that most of the time. May all burning writers singe the world around them with joy. Heaven forbid our stuff be thrown in the digression bin!

really Spring.. What we are now into Fall and I do want to go back to Spring because I love that season the most. Enjoy your day..

Some philosphers have argued that everything IS perfect. I don't know about that, but I know that most things (including people) are imperfect, and that's what gives them character.

A perfect day would mean that every other would be a disappointed - perfection is over-rated. Beauty is to be found in the pursuit of perfection. I really relate to your idea here. Thank you.

Perfection may be kind of boring. I love the diversity of imperfection we perceive. The sages say, "All is perfect."

Since everyone said they liked the part that speaks of perfection and imperfection, I'll talk other thing. I liked the part you writed "I try to wring,From each inventive writing,
To unveil treasures hidden,Or forgotten.". We have beauty within us, someones more than others, and share this "inner language" with the world can be a very happiest thing for anyone who reads and writes. Like you had done here. Thanks Jingle

There is no perfection, but what there is, is Life, love, challenges and of course writing about it all.
As always you project vitality and optimism! Happy Monday, Jingle. :))

Beautiful work, Jingle. I love the imagery! Poetry is a difficult craft - but you are certainly getting a good hold on it. And by the way - thanks for the note on my Sunday Scribblings post. (:

It's comforting to know, as C Darwin pointed out, it is the imperfections that save us.
On a personal level, it is also nice to know "Then nothing shall be impacted/And sorted to a digression". I now smile in recognition at everyone's imperfections, including mine.

You leave me speechless Jingle, I think out of all your poetry I've read so far, this is the best!

It made me think of a line from a song which went, "True perfection has to be imperfect"

That is a philosophy I have always believed in. Keep writing Ji!

In my opinion, there is nothing attractive about perfection; it's the flaws which make something stand out as truly beautiful.

Belva Rae Staples said...

While perfection may be perfect, it is the flaws that make something or someone unique. I'll take that any day. Great poem!

Perfection does not exist without imperfection anyway.
