shall I forgive the shadows

Shall I forgive the shadows
dancing at my feet,
Sorry I'm not ready to go
despite bursting shivers over my shoulder,
I drop a bolt of light
to generate a jolt of comprehension,
Reoccurring insults gather
in the hoops of your broken soul,
Emotional dramas cause topples,
I'm not ready to dance yet,
Hold your horses,
So and so...

I can relate to this, people who have insulted me especially family I am not ready to dance either.

Loved the verse.

Very moving piece you have here. Shadows of figures already past? Possibly to the dance of the dead? No I'm not ready to dance but sometimes the music can be relaxing.

Shall I forgive the shadow...much easier said than done in my experience. A thought-provoking write, thanks.

Hello.
Forgiving is not easy to do, but it uses up too much energy & time being mad.

To forgive is to be humble, for it takes strength of steel to be humble. However, just because we forgive, doesn't mean we forget.

Thought-provoking sentiments indeed.
Thanks for sharing.

'Shall I forgive the shadows' - very powerful. I can relate to this, but can't really find the words to explain why. Wonderful writing.

"Emotional dramas cause topples" so for peace forgiving the shadows is forgetting the discord too and you dance to the harmonies in life for progress and a pleasing and consistent whole!!

Sad- "Reoccurring insults gather
in the hoops of your broken soul"... sometimes it's best to let go and move forward.

Great transparency here - we know we need to forgive, but forgiving doesn't necessarily mean acting like the wrong never happened. My former pastor was fond of saying, "If someone hits you with a 10-foot pole, move 11 feet away and love them from there." In other words, forgive, but be wise enough not to put yourself in that situation again if possible.
