Loyalty (A short story)

Nilly is an alligator.

Adam is a monkey.

They enjoyed talking to each other when they met.

It was time for them to bid goodbye.

They were at the bank of a river near a willow tree.

"I wish we could be friends for good." Said Adam.

"We will be friends, but we cannot be together. You must live on the shore, I must live in the river, we watch over one another though." Signed Nilly, "And you can be sure that I always enjoy your company, Adam."

And they parted.

Years later, a trader caught Nilly, placed him in a cage and took him home.

Adam happened to be nearby and he recognized Nilly. He followed the trader home
and rescued Nilly while the trader was taking a shower.

Once back to the bank where Adam and Nilly used to meet and part, Adam helped Nilly into the water and cried.

Although they would not see each other again, they know for sure, they will never forget each other.
