Stuck In A Flooding Zone!

Stuck in a flooding zone,
My home is gone,
My clothes are wet,
My books are soaked,
My friends couldn't be reached by phone.
...
I see
A sea
of Water
Around my living quarter.
No place to stay,
No chemicals to spray,
No medicine for treatment,
No mood for entertainment.
...
I feel the isolation
Via the lack of communication.
Am I hopeless?
Am I helpless?
If NOT,
How can I survive on my own?
May I get a loan?
Please don't tell me that I am wrong,
Please pick up the phone
And take initiatives to act upon.
...
Stuck in a flooding zone,
My home is gone,
My clothes are wet,
My books are soaked,
My friends could not be reached by phone.
...
I pray for the misfortune to be gone
To end this heartbroken song.

Life is Chaos. Scary things happen everywhere, all the time.

Nice post Jingle. Life does throw us some curve balls sometimes, and Mother Nature can be pretty cruel.

i've never been the victim of a flood, and this great writing takes me to what it's like to be stuck on a rooftop.

It reminds me of Ondoy, the typhoon that hit our country last year (September).

Many years ago our home was flooded plus ceilings down because of a burst pipe, it was devastating to say the least.
I loved your poem and it brought back the memories of the kind people who helped us.

This was a nice post, Jingle. A Flood can be pretty devastating. You presented the exact feeling of being a survivor here.

You're kidding me!

There's an Alphabe-Thursday AND an ABC Wednesday?

I wrote something yesterday that works for both! I'll go submit them!

Thanks, Jingle!

Oh Jingle...so sorry to hear of your misfortune. I cannot imagine your circumstance right now and can only pray that things go better. God bless.

Good expression of the angst and fear and isolation people must feel in these situations!

Hi Jingle. I love "I see a sea". That is such a great line.

What a frightening tangle with Mother Nature. You wrote about it so well that it must be incredibly vivid in your mind still.

Thank you for linking up to Alphabe-Thursday's letter journey through the letter "X"!

You X-cell at this meme.

Brilliant poem, Jingle, the rhythm and emotion are excellent. And yes, I most certainly do agree...life is unpredictable, we cannot see the future. But we truly are the authors of our own life story, we make our own luck.

I hope this is fiction...but from how real the poem seemed, I'm thinking perhaps this is all too true. I wish you the best!

If you have written from experience, my heart felt blessings...
Floods are not fun! And your levity is intertwined with the sense of anger and fear that floods do bring. It is an intriguing mix, on which keeps the reader alert and their feet dry :)

Happy to visit you on this x day!

well done, Jingle. is this fiction?

Linda Bob Grifins Korbetis Hall said...

This is a fiction, Please worry nothing...

I live in south central of the U. S., my place is cool and my family is safe and sound...

I write this poem because I heard news from the radio when I drive my car that there is flood somewhere in another country...

Thank you for your concern!

I have HAD flooding....but not major flooding and any flooding is horrible! My thoughts go out to you. And when you are done with this, would you let me know about your blogger name of Jingle. I read a book once and there was a boy they called Jingle and I am just kind of curious and nosy! Joni

We've had too many floods in parts of England over the last few years. Fortunately, I live on a hilll, but I feel for those affected.

that must have been a cute surprise :)

it reminded me of my last rented house in kolkata- which was submerged under one feet of water every day for twenty days or more with tide.

that is, the water used to enter and go with two tides. it was one of the worst nightmares that can happen to any one.

reminds me that that flooding is both devastating and increasingly, unpredictable

Good take.
