Short Story Slam Week 12

Bluebell Books  Short Story Slam Week 12

It’s snowing outside,
The house sails like s ship
      along the rotation of Earth,
Your mothers’ voice blows
like the floating snowflakes,
“I don’t regret what I did,
I will always be with you.”
I pull the curtain down,
and ready to turn you into a religion.
The candle is lit,
Stars and seas are fashioned around,
Please turn your face around to meet me,
I wish to stay closer,
I want to run to the edge of the river
join you,
...
The beating of your heart keeps me awake,
I envy you,
The product of a forbidden love,
Innocent and naked,
Showing no worries,
You sleep as if life is Heaven,
Thank You for keeping your face hidden,
I can hardly bear the thrill
of admiring the beauty you have shown.

I love the way that you use the idea of taking what you see and turning away from the window to bring it inside...I think this will take a few reads to properly appreciate it.

in so many ways, this speaks of 'adoption.'

adoption of another point of view.
adoption of a child
adoption of life's simple mystery
adoption of an idea
adoption of change
adoption of innocence

beautiful...

This is quite a deep piece and I'm sure that the more I read it the more I'll get from it.

I like the thought process that goes with this piece. It becomes more intriguing as you realise the baby is the result of a love affair.
