Days in winter grow shorter,
Thoughts in me become sportier,
I write yet fail
to feel:
How the Moon with her flickering hope
hanging on bare cliff like a rope,
How November dusk blows cold kisses
to lonely gray houses,
and how I rake wet leaves in my hard drive
to see life between us.

That's beautiful.
I like the variety of rhyme, half rhyme and near rhyme. Well handled.
Very nicely observed and captured with a winter time feeling.

really good piece - it really flows well, and I can totally relate to your experience...oh winter.
Wow, great imagery. You really pack a punch in only 55 words.
It's hard to feel when raking leaves, but this is breath-taking:

I like the dichotomy between realism and whimsy here. Nice 55.
Rather the chill of winter roll over us slowly than take us by surprise. Beautifully penned.
Lovely 55!
