In My Head (Short Story Slam Week 19)

Why do we must dye our life?
Do I have to stay put indefinitely?
Look around, we have nature to worship,
Cryptograms to decode,
.
I walk around the park,
My mind is listless,
The wind is flirting with the starless sky,
I’m glad I didn’t detonate.
.
Birds hesitate to leave behind their old tree friend,
Winter rattles and signs in disorder,
Dead leaves mourn over their removal from trees,
I pray for you, in dimness…

I have to say that I agree with ayala. The entire poem is quite something, but these words caught hold of me:

My mind is listless,
The wind is flirting with the starless sky

I can see it and even though my mind doesn't know quite which way to go, it follows the wind and the smell of Autumn as together they flirt with the sky.
This made me see some wonderful pictures in my mind. Thanks so much for sharing.

I admit I'm not really a poetry buff but there are pictures in my inner vision that have been invoked by your poem.
I see a young girl desperate to move on and see the world, someone who wants to be like the swallows who rejoice in the freshness of the wind on a starless night as they playfully travel from north to south and back again.
A girl who is tired of trying to please other people instead of discarding the dead leaves of her life, making way for the fresh growth in the coming season.
I see her wanting to lift her eyes to the creator instead of being stuck with only what can be seen, tired of the hopelessness of negativity.
I see pictures when I read this poem.
A good read, Geoff.

I like the tension between the stillness and the motion. The staying put and the moving on. Nice, reflective piece.
